Future Workbook: Alien Monster IV

For the worksheet portion of the assignment I chose a piece of artwork by H.R. Giger called, "ALIEN MONSTER IV". I really enjoy the movies Alien and Aliens. Giger's piece is identical to the aliens in these movies. I know Giger's artwork was inspiration for the xenomorph in these movies, and the match is amazaing. In the movie, the aliens are camouflaged by the background of the planet and the buildings built by people on that planet. Ellen Ripley would step on the creature's body parts as she maneuvered her way to safety. The parts seemed to become part of the building.
The oneness of the monster and the environment is chilling, as there is no escaping these vicious, machine-like aliens. They are different from my prior image of what an alien is. They don't look like the green aliens advertised at the museum in Roswell. They are not cute rubbery guys with big black eyes. Giger's monster is mysterious. I used Giger's alien in my short story as well. It was a lot of fun.
